Wait, Timothée Chalamet Thinks He’s Bob Dylan?

I went into A Complete Unknown with my expectations firmly planted in the dirt. Let’s be honest: biopics have never been my thing. They’re like the cinematic equivalent of skimming a Wikipedia entry—efficient, sure, but rarely the stuff of thrills. And Bob Dylan? Look, I’ll respect the guy’s legacy, but I wouldn’t call myself a fan. In fact, until I saw the movie’s press materials, I was blissfully unaware that he’s still alive. Then there’s Timothée Chalamet. Don’t get me wrong, I admire the gu

Lucas Friesen: I'm glad you liked the movie. And the way you wrote this article makes your appreciation for it really shine. I love when I have low expectations for a movie and then the movie totally blows me away. It's one of the best experiences in movie-watching

The Kissing Booth, Rom-Coms, and Female Characters: A Fan Interviews Meganne Young

I'm a good writer. I'm good at sitting behind a screen, formulating my web of thoughts into a coherent sentence; lather, rinse, repeat. Maybe that sounds like a brag, but you should know that I'm a good writer because I'm bad at talking. I will never be a public speaker, a theatre performer, or a news broadcaster—but I could easily write all of their lines. When I got an opportunity to sit down for a one-on-one conversation with an actress whose work I admire, I accepted instantly, forgetting ju

I Miss the Old-Fashioned Cancel Culture

The good old days of cancel culture—when it was quick, decisive, and no one had to debate the outcome. Someone messed up, and bam, they were gone. No second chances, no back-and-forth. It was clean and efficient, like flipping a switch. Now, with everything that’s going on in 2025, especially at the Oscars, it feels like cancel culture has lost its edge. Take Karla Sofía Gascón , for example. She’s stuck in this weird limbo right now. Netflix and various awards shows have distanced themselves fr

Demi Moore, Let Yourself Be Mad

Demi Moore spent the entire awards season playing nice, showing nothing but gratitude for an industry that had once discarded her, only to welcome her back with cautious, conditional arms. She had it all—the career resurgence, the compelling performance in The Substance, the overdue narrative, the industry respect—but when the name in the envelope wasn’t hers but Mikey Madison’s, the shock on her face was unmistakable. Of course, she recovered quickly. Years in Hollywood teach you how to mask di

marvelousmars: I love how you wrote this, especially how you focused on the fact that the injustice was less that she didn't win and more that she was expected to act like everything was perfect. I hadn't thought about it before, but now I hope she gave herself the chance to really feel the emotions of the loss, just like you.

Margot Robbie: A Blond Beauty. Also, an all-rounded producer!

“Barbie” is undoubtedly the most successful film Hollywood has seen last Summer. In less than three weeks, “Barbie’s” global box office sales exceeded the billion USD mark. Meanwhile, internet search rate for "Barbie" and "Ken" on the newborn baby naming websites soared by 200%. Faced with this phenomenon, even Nolan’s "Oppenheimer" had to be bundled with it and promoted as "Barbieheimer". Our protagonist in “Barbie”, Margot Robbie, sports a head of gold curly hair, a tight figure and exquisite

Lindsay Lohan Is Becoming the Cheesiest Queen of Christmas Movies

Lindsay Lohan’s career revival may not have taken Hollywood by storm, but it’s definitely decked the halls of streaming platforms. From Falling for Christmas in 2022 to Our Little Secret this year, with the vaguely holiday-themed flick Irish Wish sandwiched in between, Lohan seems determined to carve out a niche for herself as the reigning queen of Christmas rom-coms. And while her films are, in all fairness, objectively terrible, there’s something oddly comforting about their predictable charm.

Breakout Star of 2024?

I don't know about you, but I feel like we are entering a new Golden Age of film actors; male, female and non-binary! I wonder, who do you think was the breakout star of 2024? What I mean is, who was the actor that made you sit up in your chair and say: “Who is that?” For me, it must be Kathryn Newton. Of course, she has been around a while but I'd never noticed her until I saw her in Lisa Frankenstein. I was floored with her look, ability and camera presence. She reminds me of a modern-day Barbara Stanwyck. If they ever remake Double Indemnity, they better cast her. Does anyone else see the resemblance? But I want to hear from the Peli Community. Which actor was your breakout star of 2024?

JennMaxwell: For me, it has to be Yura Borisov as Igor in Anora!

Gal Gadot Isn't a Bad Actress, She's Just Camp

Snow White sure was something, huh? I definitely can’t say it was good, but I’m not sure I’m committed to completely writing it off either. The CGI was weird—really weird—and the story was flimsy and soulless, but I think everyone who was trashing Rachel Zegler has pretty well been proven wrong. I absolutely loved her singing, and her acting wasn’t half bad either, so she was the highlight of the film for me… Or she would have been, if not for Gal Gadot. Don’t get me wrong, she’s terrible, but t
