Gone Girl: Amy Dunne and the Dark Side of Love

Introduction In the beginning, Amy looks more submissive and innocent. Amy Dunne, the enigmatic protagonist of Gillian Flynn's "Gone Girl," is introduced as a beautiful and intelligent woman, seemingly the epitome of a desirable partner. However, beneath this polished surface, she harbors a significant and disturbing secret. As the film unfolds, her personality is revealed to be that of a calculating sociopath, driven by a chilling thirst for revenge. Her meticulously orchestrated steps, execute

RIP Lynch – I’m Still Trying to Process This

Today’s been a pretty heavy day. I woke up to the news that David Lynch passed away, and honestly, I couldn’t quite believe it. Someone like him—so unique, so brilliant—just feels like they should be immortal. I was gonna write something to honor him, but his work and what he meant to me are so personal. Lynch was also my best friend Doug’s all-time favorite director, and he’s taking this harder than I am. I honestly don’t even know how to comfort him. I realized I can’t really analyze or talk about it the way I usually would. I’m worried anything I say, whether calm or emotional, might come off as exploiting his memory. So instead, I just wanted to start a discussion with you all. I’ll never forget watching Wild at Heart in a downtown NYC theater. The vibe was electric. When Nicolas Cage’s character finally decides to go after Laura Dern , the whole room erupted in cheers. It stopped being a movie and became something like a cult. All I could think was: I fucking love this. So, friends, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Whether you’re a fan of his work or not, or if you even know it at all, just share how you’re feeling.

Timothy Knight: Can’t stop thinking about how Lynch made nightmares look beautiful. Absolute GOAT.

Justice for Burt Fabelman: Mitzi Missed Out

A little over two years ago, I was driving to work around 8:30 am on a snowy January day in Canada. I knew that the nominations for the 95th Academy Awards were being announced, but since I was driving, I couldn’t watch the livestream. I tuned into the car radio. My face fell when the host read the names for Best Supporting Actor- no Paul Dano. At the time, The Fabelmans was my favourite movie of 2022. (I hadn’t seen Aftersun yet. That has since taken the top spot, but The Fabelmans is a close n

Remembering David Lynch

Today marks the tragic loss of one of the last great American artists, David Lynch. His impact on the culture, cinema, and creative innovation will be eternally unmoved. He's best known for his visionary work as the director of Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, and the television series Twin Peaks. His signature surrealist style even coined the term "Lynchian." Though the majority of his work dates back more than 20 years, he has an ever-growing cult-like fanbase and is revered by his film industry

Danny Varekai: Jenn, your tribute to David Lynch beautifully encapsulates his profound impact on cinema and culture.

A Tribute to David Lynch: Blue Velvet – A Journey Into the Darkness Beneath the Surface

As you sit down to watch Blue Velvet, it’s impossible not to think about the man who crafted this unsettling masterpiece—David Lynch. With his passing, we’re left with the legacy of a filmmaker who was never interested in entertainment for entertainment’s sake. Lynch’s films weren’t designed to make you feel comfortable or entertained in the traditional sense; they were meant to make you think, feel, and, at times, question your very understanding of the human experience. Blue Velvet is one of t

What did David Lynch mean when he said that Eraserhead was his most "spiritual" movie?

We live in a strange world. Many times, we don't accept reality and get stuck in an ideal we fix in our minds because that's how we believe things should be. Happiness, lies and truth go hand in hand in the complex history of humanity as much as our—sometimes—unstoppable desire to pretend we aren't living what we, ironically, are living. But none of this seems to have applied to the legendary director David Lynch who, in his four-decade career in the audiovisual industry, dedicated himself to de

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: Un Nuevo Enfoque en el Universo Cinematográfico de Superhéroes

Desde su debut en 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ha cambiado la forma en que percibimos las películas de superhéroes. Esta obra maestra de la animación no solo ha redefinido al icónico personaje de Spider-Man, sino que también ha ofrecido un enfoque completamente nuevo que ha dejado una huella imborrable en el género. wanna know/listen more music from David Lynch

David Lynch just passed away, I saw all of his movies, and also know he is a musician and a quite rock star. Had listened his album Crazy Clown Time. Then now just found "He composed several pieces for Inland Empire, including two songs, "Ghost of Love" and "Walkin' on the Sky", in which he makes his public debut as a singer." I guess he never given any music live. Any other his music works could recommended?

beaver: normally, David lynch can just formula his story idea just from a song. my first David bowie's CD is outside, now just know after lynch heard a song in this album, I’m Deranged , then he got the opening scene of his"lost highway"
