Let's Share Our Personal First 'Moana 2' Thoughts

Mine is: I think it's delightful. Disney did a fine job. What's Yours?

Jeremy Kwiecien: I enjoyed it. It wasn't just a rehash of the first movie, but was familiar enough to not alienate fans of the first movie. Definitely not as good as Moana, but a decent sequel. Although I am curious what the plan was for the TV series that was scrapped. I'm against the trend of Disney+ series taking a 2 hour movie and making 6 hours of TV, so I'd like to think this story isn't what they'd intended, or if it was, there was a lot of mini adventures cut out.

Are the new icons the classics?

Hi! To begin with it is good to clarify who make up generation Z and they are (if I am not mistaken) those born between 1995 and 2012, but you can correct me in the comments. But the topic I want to touch is not the date they were born but the icons that this generation considers representatives of their era. For example I remember that my dad was a big fan of the series EL ZORRO or RAMBO and TERMINATOR. But those movies are already considered old (for many of us we prefer to call them classics)

Jhonatan Ponce (ponceelrelajado): I completely agree with you, you forgot to include Wednesday or "Merlina" in Spanish, I've already lost count of how many times I've seen that in things for girls

Moana Conquered the Seas, But What About the Girls Left Behind?

Years ago, when I first watched Moana, I saw it as the perfect Disney princess film. It had everything: captivating music, a legendary storyline, breathtaking visuals, and Moana herself—the most un-princess-like princess Disney had ever created. To me, she was Disney's strongest feminist character since Elsa from Frozen. Moana was independent, brave, and unyielding in her pursuit of her dreams. She embarked on a long ocean voyage alone and saved her people almost entirely through her own efforts

Danny Varekai: Moana captivated me with its visuals and empowering lead, but rewatching it, I felt its focus on individual success overshadowed deeper themes of collective female strength. The lack of meaningful female bonds left me wanting more from her journey. By the way, I’d love for you to take a look at my write-up about What Women Want: My Guilty Pleasure Film. Moana 2: The Best Animation for Modern Citizens to "Sea" in 2024.

Moana, and other main characters of Moana 2. Last weekend, my wife and I saw Moana 2 at the cinema. Though we don't have children yet, we're planning to, and throughout the movie, we found ourselves thinking, "How wonderful would it be to watch this with our future child!" The movie captivated us not only because of our parental dreams but because it was genuinely excellent. The stunning visuals and seamlessly integrated music enhanced the storyline beautifully. That same morning, I had watched
