Ishika Banerjee: Very true! as someone from india the class divide shown in the film was very surface level an sub-par, it didnt really touch on the more nuanced aspects of the larger movement that corruption can cause in certain population. Not to mention how weak and useless the female "lead" was. Still happy to see that this movie exists and Patel is thriving to make more.

If anyone ever referred to this film as "the Indian version of John Wick", they couldn’t have been more wrong. As much as I love the Keanu Reeves-led saga, discovering Monkey Man was an experience that hit on an entirely different level. This is a film with far more layers of complexity, infused with the unique touch that only a visionary like Dev Patel could bring.
