Some Concerns About AI Generated Arts...And Please Don't Support Those AI-Generated "Ghibli" Images
So earlier today when I was browsing on the internet, I watched a short film that is made by using AI generative tools. The author was an artist, and like any other independent filmmakers, the author was trying to raise people's attention to certain problems. I believe the author did it with a good intention, but the film was CREEPY. I finished it, and too late to realize watching it was a horrible experience. It tried to be “flawless”, but at the same time unnatural in every way. The general appearance, the montage, the way characters interact with each other...were just uncanny. A while ago, there was a mad, fanatic fashion of using AI creating Ghibli style images. I didn't say anything about it, as I know it will trigger me really bad so I tend to not care about it. Now I realize I must say something. And if you are listening, please don't follow that trend, or at least don't support it. It's not funny, because the people who works in Ghibli, as artist, they are considerate towards their arts. If you have watched any documentaries about Ghibli or Miyazaki, you would know that they constantly examine themselves during crafting their stories, asking questions like whether it is right or not to draw in this way. In other words, the Ghibli style is NOT a fixed rule, they made their animation to look like that for strong reasons. Therefore, they will refuse to apply the past Ghibli style to certain things, because it could be inaccurate or even wrong. The problem about the AI art nowadays is that AI has NO critical thinking. (the reasoning model seems to have it, but it is simply making you feel it does), when you use AI generative tools to generate “Art”, you are not actually making art, but spoiling your creativity. If you have children in your house, you will know what consequences will the spoiled creativity lead to. And as a Ghibli fan myself, I ask you to not indulge yourself in AI generated “Ghibli”, the more you do that, the more fun you will miss from the rea
Timothy Knight: I think if creation cannot be based on self-thinking, it is not creation. AI's regeneration of Ghibli's art is disrespectful to art itself for me.
