Delphine Seyrig was a Lebanese-born French actress and film director. She came to prominence in Alain Resnais's 1961 film Last Year at Marienbad, and later acted in films by Chantal Akerman, Luis Buñuel, Marguerite Duras, Francois Truffaut, and Fred Zinneman. She also directed three films.

Alain Resnais was a French film director who was a leader of the Nouvelle Vague of unorthodox, influential film directors appearing in France in the late 1950s. His major works included Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) and Last Year at Marienbad (1961).
