The rise of the female antihero (or antiheroine) has put some of cinema's favourite female-driven psychological-thrillers on the map and silver screen, the likes of The Girl On Train (2016) with Rachel Watson (Emily Blunt) and the infamous Gone Girl (2014) with Amy Dunne (Rosumand Pike). By dictionary's definition, an anti-hero or anti-heroine “lacks (or defies) the conventional heroic attributes or qualities that a typical or traditional hero (symbolizes or) embodies”.
