Charlie Cruikshank and fiancée Jennifer 'Jenny' Morgan planned, after their MBA graduation, to cohabit. By accepting the European voyage his parents offer as graduation present, Charlie crosses their plan to earn a down-payment in summer. So Jenny seeks a job, hastily enough to apply for photocopy-clerk in Oliver Caldwell's multinational HQ. By mistake, Oliver hires her as nanny for his beloved brats, Alex and Katie, who spend summer with him, unlike the school year with their aunt. Businesswise he keeps traveling to Paris and further trough Europe, ultimately meeting Charlie in Austria. Coached by limousine driver Nigel Kent, Jenny proves the first nanny the kids can't scare off. They even bond and team up against Oliver's fiancée, ruthlessly ambitious, child-hating VP Vivian Berger, who wants to get rid of them.

Tycoon Oliver Caldwell's rascal kids Alex and Katie decide it's time he actually marries their nanny and de-facto stepmother. They deploy a devious plan during in Paris. But ambitious executive Michael 'Mike' Hausen is in cahoots with Cassandra Hausen, to turn the board against them and chuck Oliver by staging an 'affair' between Jenny and Mike now all mandataes are to redistributed as Caldwell's firm merges with a European one.

Alex graduates as valedictorian in glorious rascally style, but during the stunt one last time chases a babysitting au pair, now for Sara. So his stepmother Jenny must do it herself again on Oliver's tropical surprise vacation, with some help from Katie, who is allowed to bring along her study buddy Ariana, to Alexa's taste when they arrive in a Puertorican villa managed by Nigel's brother Rupert. While the girls swoon over local rental bikes entrepreneur Danny, jealous Katie sabotages Alex's buddy romance with Ari, which proves more painful for all of them then dodging the clueless bodyguards. Oliver meanwhile can't escape from the threat posed to his company's future, a water motor, a legacy for Alex incompatible with the heir's artistic ambitions, posed by executive rival Walter Hausen at board level.
