The Wedding March

Long divorced workaholic Olivia Pershing née Phillips, a Long Island stager, is getting remarried, to her pseudo business partner, equally workaholic Josh Johnson, a high end real estate agent. If they had their way, they would get married in a simple civil ceremony, however they are letting Olivia's daughter, Grace Pershing, arrange a small weekend getaway wedding for them, no major questions asked on their end. Grace believes they are unromantic, epitomized by the fact that her mother desentimentalizes spaces for a living, hence the reason why Grace wants to arrange something special for them. Grace chooses to hold the festivities at the Willow Lake Inn, a lakefront Vermont country property, Julie Turner, on behalf of the Inn, making most of the arrangements locally. When the band that Grace chooses to perform at the ceremony cancels at the last minute, Julie even arranges for an alternate, namely her father, the Inn owner who has always had music in some form in his life, it which he does solely for his own pleasure now. The weekend starts off with a bang when Olivia arrives at the Inn to discover the owner is former pop star Mick Turner, her college sweetheart, they who were each other's first love. Olivia performed in and wrote songs for his band at the time. Without Olivia, Mick and the band left when they got their first tour and a record deal, Mick and Olivia never having reconnected after that based solely on the circumstances of the time leading to a misunderstanding of the situation on both their parts, all this happening thirty years ago. Based on the way their relationship ended, their reunion is an uncomfortable one. One other person who will not be happy to see Mick is Olivia's judgmental oft-married but currently single mother Nora Winters, who never thought Mick was devoted enough to Olivia, he focused too much on the music. Grace knew nothing of this past life of her mother's, while Julie knew only of a woman her father dated in college. Recently widowed Mick, largely seen as the catch of the area of the middle aged set, has only recently felt ready to reenter the dating pool. Soon to be an empty nester and alone with only the memories, Mick is thinking about selling the Inn, which he has troubles telling Julie as it's the only home she's ever known. Grace, Julie and Duke, the Inn's chef who was the band's drummer, see a spark between Mick and Olivia, Duke who knew them as a couple. Although Grace likes Josh, she sees him more as a business partner than a husband for her mother. As such, Grace, Julie and Duke hope that the course of true love happens for Olivia and Mick to have a happily ever after, even if it's thirty years later than when it should have.

Mick Turner and Olivia Parsons were college sweethearts until he left the relationship to go on tour with his band. Now, years later, Mick needs a silent partner to help him revive his failing Willow Lake Inn and, unbeknownst to him, Olivia is moving to New England for that purpose. But when Mick learns that Olivia is coming, he misinterprets her intentions. He thinks she wants to rekindle their romance, and she''s planning on not-so-silently revamping his simple Inn into a premiere wedding resort. Will a bridezilla and her reluctant beau, who book the Willow Lake Inn for their perfect wedding, drive Mick and Olivia apart or finally bring them to the altar?

It's the Valentine's Day weekend. Mick Turner and Olivia Pershing of the Willow Lake Inn, which is doing booming business in their bread and butter of weddings, are taking a break if only to spend a romantic weekend together, beyond preparing for the Valentine's Day benefit concert at which Mick and his band will be performing, Mick who has a special surprise prepared for Olivia at the concert. Their romantic weekend is put on hold with the unexpected arrival of three couples. The first is Olivia's thrice divorced, hyper-critical mother Nora Winters, and her current boyfriend, Johnny. Nora, who disliked Mick when he and Olivia dated in college but who had changed her opinion of him when they recently reunited, may have changed her mind once again in believing that Olivia is "settling" in she and Mick not having gotten married, something Nora felt the need to tell Olivia in person. The second is Mick's daughter, Julia Turner, and her boyfriend, Wyatt. Julia's surprise visit home in the middle of the school year is to inform her father that she intends not to return to school after completion of this current semester, in favor of pursuing her dream of becoming a chef. She ultimately hopes to work at the inn, but if Mick won't let her in he not agreeing with her decision, she vows to get chef work elsewhere. In the ultimate disagreement on the issue between Julie and Mick, she may have forgotten one important person, Wyatt who believes their relationship cannot withstand the long distance as he still has two years until graduation. And third is Mick's younger sister, Bonnie Turner, a London-based couture retailer who says she is bringing someone with her. Bonnie doesn't say who that person is, her fiancé Sean, they who want to have a small ceremony on Valentine's at the inn. The reason for that secrecy until their arrival is that Mick and Sean have a history: Sean was once Mick's band mate, Sean who walked out on the band leaving them high and dry for a series of concerts. Mick has not forgiven Sean in the intervening twenty years. In seeing Sean now, Mick can't help but see something that gives him an aching suspicion that Sean is up to no good and will ultimately hurt Bonnie. Mick may or may not be looking for something that isn't there in it being Sean, but if he tells Bonnie his feelings, it may irreparably damage their relationship.

Away for a romantic weekend where he had planned a grand gesture, Mick Turner and Olivia Pershing, co-proprietors of the Willow Lake Inn in Vermont, the inn's bread and butter business being weddings, are called back to the inn with the grand gesture having to wait when they learn that Olivia's daughter, Grace Pershing, to who Olivia gave her Long Island staging business in moving to Willow Lake, has showed up unexpectedly with her musician boyfriend, Eric Stratton, to announce their engagement. What Mick concurrently learns is that their next wedding clients - Abby Russo and Rob Atwell - have come a few days earlier than expected. While Mick, who has not worked directly on the wedding part of the business leaving such to Olivia, and to his daughter Julie before Olivia, vows to take care of Abby and Rob's wedding so that Olivia can focus on Grace and Eric, Olivia instead funnels all her A-type energies on Grace, turning into Motherzilla of the bride-to-be. Things between Olivia and Grace may get even more intense when Grace tells her the other news she has about what she intends to do when Eric and his band go on tour. What Mick does not anticipate in taking over whatever needs to be done for Abby and Rob is that Abby, from modest means marrying into an extremely wealthy family she does not know well, wants to make one change after another from her relatively simple but romantic initial wedding plans in wanting to impress the Atwells, especially when Rob's rather in-your-face younger sister, Kelsey Atwell, implies that "this is the way that it should be done" especially to match Rob and Kelsey's parents' wedding which was held at the inn years ago. Trying to impress may also change Abby's life aspirations in working as an artist full-time which is what she really wants instead of going back to law school which she almost completed before she had to drop out when her mother passed.

Annalise (Cindy Busby), a young, ambitious wedding planner, partners with Olivia (Josie Bissett) to plan the perfect wedding. What she doesn't know is that the groom's best man Brad (Tyler Hynes) is none other than her ex-boyfriend, who she hasn't spoken to in five years;

Mick and Olivia's wedding is fast approaching in two months time, Mick's younger brother James who has come to the inn early to fill in for a currently absent Duke and to help with the wedding planning in any way he can. But Mick and Olivia have one more paid wedding at the inn to organize beforehand to take place in two week's time for high school sweethearts Autumn Davis and Curt Sims originally from Bangor, Michigan. Autumn is a children's book author whose protagonist, Majestic Mia, is her alter ego, a symbol of female empowerment, while Curt is a Hollywood actor whose career has skyrocketed in the past year. Despite pressure from Curt's publicist Sean to have a highly public celebrity wedding for the betterment of Curt's career, Autumn and Curt have come to an agreement to have a modest, low key wedding, the press from who they have hidden the fact of they even being engaged let alone imminently getting married. Something they will discuss after the wedding is where to live, Autumn who does not want to live in Hollywood in wanting a lower key life out of the public eye. Both Autumn and Curt's wedding and Mick and Olivia's wedding start to change from their original plans as Sean comes with a request for Curt to accommodate one publicity item not related to the wedding, and as Mick's own agent has some news for him. These items begin to snowball where what happens between one of the couples affects the other and visa versa, leading to both potentially not only not get the wedding that they had envisioned, but may not get a wedding at all, especially Autumn and Curt, who may face the same issue Mick and Olivia did twenty-five years ago.
