WWOR channel 9 news at 10 (1987)

As WWOR has always been, this was cutting-edge news. Always in purpose, as in talking about sexual laws, and sex crimes, but it was cutting edge.

This picked up after 1990, when the I-Team segments began and stories got sensational.

As with all local news, the New York/Brooklyn area had a lot of crime in the late 80s, so the news was sometimes violent. WWOR led in it being more graphic than WPIX or WCBS, though, all in purpose. When the I-Team segments began in 1990, they got more intense.

WWOR has always been cutting-edge, so many stories feature interviews with cursing, but it's always edited.

Tame compared to UPN 9 news, its later successor, but there were many stories about drug use. Never for pleasure, but always in purpose. With the I-Team segments they got more graphic. The news in general got more graphic as UPN's debut date, January, 16th, 1995, got closer.

Somewhat tame in the beginning but the news stories (especially those of drug dealers, and the Mafia, and other major crimes) got more intense with time. But it's not objectionable. Anyone can see it. It is news.
