Malik believed that the day his father passed away was the day he was freed from the pressures of the family rules that had held him captive throughout his childhood and adolescence, despite the fact that his parents had given him everything a child or young man could dream of in a city like Baghdad. Today, in Malik's eyes, marks the start of the independent life he has always desired. However, Malik's happiness and anticipation of his future freedom were shortlived, as he soon received a video of his father, filmed a year ago, in which he talked about the darker sides of his past and his previous affiliation with an Arab organization based in Cairo from 1980 to 1988. It was a price he had to pay in order to stay in Cairo, far from Baghdad, and avoid serving in the Iraqi army, which was at the time embroiled in a devastating war with the Iranian army. When the war ended, Majeed resigned from the organization and decided to return to Baghdad, thereby receiving his severance pay as well as his death certificate (17/03/2019), as a form of punishment and control at the same time.
