The architect Frank Lloyd Wright disappears on 9 April 1959. On 17 August 1969 Mies van der Rohe. On September 16th 1979 Gio Ponti. In 2019 the three Masters of 20th century architecture are celebrated. The three documentaries intend to remember and celebrate the three great Masters of twentieth century architecture, giving voice to some Italian architects who wonder about their heritage. The professional path and profile of the three Masters, told by the architectural historian Francesco Dal Co, intertwine with the reflection on the themes and characteristics of Wright, Van Der Rohe and Ponti through the words and testimonies of some of the greatest Italian architects who lead us on a passionate journey into their work to collect their heritage. The architects Stefano Boeri, Mario Cucinella, Michele De Lucchi, Massimiliano Fuksas, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Matteo Thun, wonder about the "lesson" left by the three Masters, about the meaning and impact of their works in the architectural culture of the twentieth century; they reflect on their imagery by revisiting their conceptions and reinterpreting today those visions in a contemporary world that can find sustainable forms and patterns from the past.
