Dixies (2021)

It is 1985 and the morning before the opening night of Dixies club in Doncaster. However, there is a problem...who is the dead body near the bar? How will Dave Hart and his long time friends Richard and Dave Burns handle this? With the help of barmaid Tracey and market stall holder Billy there is a solution, but along the way all starts to become clear that Dave is in much deeper than he thought in a complex situation with the local bare knuckle fighting circle that threatens his livelihood and family. Meanwhile, DS Phil Simpson and DC John Lyons are never far away from catching up with him. Dixies is a gripping and gritty northern drama/pilot episode set against the social backdrop of Doncaster in the 1980's, with more than a touch of comedy that explores the relationships between the characters and starts to reveal their back stories and how they interlink as the drama unfolds.
