The world has long run out of petroleum in the 1970s, and various world governments have been keeping this hidden, using groundbreaking technology that allows video game actions to be turned into real electric power. However, glitches in video games throughout the years have caused many players to quit playing games, causing historical energy shortages such as the blackout of New York in 1977, the 2012 blackouts of India, and the destruction of Chernobyl. The series tells the misadventures of a CIA "glitch fix" team comprised of 4 gamers, who hop through various videogames in an effort to fix said glitches and keep the world's power supply in check.
