On May 14th, 2011, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who was the head of the International Monetary Fund and a leading candidate for the 2012 French presidential election, was arrested on allegations of sexual assault following accusations by Nafissatou Diallo, a maid at New York's Sofitel hotel.
