Devil's Promise (2022)

On the very day Ibrahim secures a huge project to redevelop a slum area of Cairo, his beloved wife Zeina is diagnosed with a rare, incurable brain tumor. Ibrahim refuses to accept the prognosis and tries everything he can to save her, but in the end there is only one option open to him - to make a pact with Iblis, AKA the devil. In desperation, Ibrahim signs the contract, believing that his wife will live and Iblis will take his soul when he dies. But after Zeina's "miraculous" recovery, it becomes clear that things are not quite as expected. Ibrahim starts to hear demonic whispers. A strange mark appears on his back. He has violent fantasies which soon become reality. His soul is clearly decaying already, transforming this mild-mannered, gentle man into an aggressive, out-of-control and violent liability. Incensed at the injustice of this blatant breach of contract, and afraid for his future, Ibrahim tries the mosque and exorcism for help, to no avail. He looks online and finds a renowned expert in the field. He wastes no time in seeking Professor Aydan Alshareef out. But it's too late. The controversial professor died in mysterious circumstances, just a few years ago. However, his grieving widow, Professor Jennifer Campbell, is still around. She is reluctant to engage with Ibrahim at first but clearly knows a lot about the subject, too. Ibrahim persists, until eventually her heart goes out him. Perhaps, in the process of helping him, Jennifer will be able to avenge the death of her beloved husband and finally come to terms with her own loss? Against all supernatural odds, this unlikely pair team up to discover the secrets of the Hidden Chamber at the Black Pyramid of Dashurand to save Ibrahim's rotting soul -throwing a significant spanner in the works of Iblis's evil plans for humanity in the process.
