Violence is a constant throughout due to the nature of the show. It follows real EMS, Police, and Firefighters. There is no dramatization. All violence seen is real.
Patients of paramedics shown with often gruesome injuries. This may include car accident victims, gunshot wounds, stabs/cuts, broken bones, overdoses, and more. Some of the more graphic injuries may be partially blurred. This is not a show for the squeamish .
Police are shown chasing suspects. This can lead to people being tased or scuffles breaking out. In one case, police are fired upon by a fleeing suspect and return fire on the suspect. Neither police nor the suspect end up being hit by gunfire, though.
Occasionally, police or paramedics on the show will be called to the scenes of violent deaths (often homicides). In one scene, a murder victim is seen lying face down in a large pool of blood. Multiple gunshot wounds are visible on his back. It is directly said in dialogue that he has gunshots to his head; however, this cannot be seen as his head has been blurred.
