Northern Renaissance (2006)

Surveys the revolutionary achievements of artists during the Renaissance, but in the Northern European countries: Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium. Does this in three leaps: the epochal transformation of painting by Jan van Eyck and his followers, Albrecht Dürer and the advent of printing and the mechanical reproduction of images, and the challenge of Protestant image breaking. The series travels Europe to tell an untold story of the "other" Renaissance, one more relevant to our times than the Italian one.
