Dutch former Prime Minister President Ruud Lubbers thinks it's time to take stock and that's why he agrees with four lengthy interviews with lecture hall students about important events in his political career. He is being challenged about the oil crisis, economic reforms, demonstrations against cruise missiles and the birth of the euro. The students are not only curious, but also confrontational. Why have Lubbers' memoirs never appeared? What were his ideals? Is he actually a democrat in heart and soul?
