Port Authority-Sealed Containers: Long Beach

EOD combat Marine LILY MENENDEZ returns from Afghanistan to a broken family of debt and her teenage daughter gang bound. Lily struggles to readjust to civilian life and residual PTSD when she joins the LAPD-Belmont Port Authority undercover smuggling interceptors. She is partnered with aging African American Coast Guard vet WALTER HILL who has been career-sidelined by white-entitled racism and a boys in blue corrupt gang factor of bribes and excess force on the streets. Immediately Lily faces compromised politicians, a corrupt Port Authority, aggressive environmental crimes by big oil and gas, when she witnesses a mysterious murder onboard a Panamanian megasized container ship whose investigations yield human trafficking and global drug cartels smuggling nationwide.. The human trafficking operation is run by JULIAN RENAUD, a modern-day version of Aristotle Onassis in global fleets but a reclusive black market dealer who controls people as much for global power than mere profit. On stakeout, a large container ship prepares to leave Dock 32 at Long Beach Harbor when gunshots reveal a human slaves escape attempt in progress. Lily and Walter hearing the gunfire run to board the container ship and intercede on the gunshot victim's behalf. As the largely automated container ship goes out to sea, Lily and Walter are trapped onboard and the puppet master Julian Renaud has his own crisis at hand. The JR Giger has run aground in the Panama Canal and there is human cargo onboard in the form of caged slaves on their way to being transported from Panama to the West Coast and Canada.
