Many (very many) shootings. Most episodes revolve around the killing of a person (the protagonists work for the homicide department of the LAPD), which is always shown and sometimes is decomposed. Otherwise people are stabbed, hit with blunt force trauma. In one episode an antagonist falls from a great height on the pavement. A minor character is tortured with an injected drug.

One f word and some to quite a lot of uses of the s word, asshole, bitch and pissed in season 1.

Izzie is seen drinking beer and several people, a police officer, her dad the DA, say she is a minor drinking alcohol. Drinking takes place at a police officer's house party.

A woman is bound to a chair and injected with a harmful substance; she begs and then screams in pain.

A minor protagonist is stabbed in the belly while his colleagues watch over the video link.

A woman is locked up in a closet underground; the scene can be disturbing.
