Matador (1978)

Mads Andersen-Skjern travels to the sleepy fictive town of Korsbæk, Denmark in 1929. After seeing that old well-established families rule the realm, he purchases a house, starts a business, and brings change the town. The series follow the families of Korsbæk until 1947. The series is regarded as the best Danish drama of all time.
