The Brighter Day (1954)

These words opened this poignant daytime serial, which was set in the small Midwestern burg of New Hope. The sprawling Dennis family, headed by patriarch Rev. Richard Dennis, took center stage as stories developed around Richard's aspiring actress daughter Althea and Althea's dipsomaniacal brother Grayling.
