"Night Tracks" was TBS SuperStation's answer to MTV and the music-video craze of the mid-1980's. Airing on Friday & Saturday nights, it featured back-to-back videos played in marathon stretches that extended well into Sunday morning. Night Tracks differed from MTV with a more genre-diverse playlist, with an emphasis in r&b, dance-music and less-mainstream fare. A highlight of the show was that off-air vee-jay's kept chatter to a minimum. Other versions of the show included "Chart-Busters" (with a count-down format) and "Power Play", which featured the most popular chart-toppers.
