Noozles (1984)

An archaeologist working in Australia sends a koala to his wife as a pet, before mysteriously disappearing while part of an expedition to Ayers Rock (Uluru). His gift does not reach its destination, because the ship transporting it was lost at sea. The gift is recovered 38 years later, and a koala in suspended animation is delivered to the archaeologist's 12-year-old granddaughter, Sandy Brown. Sandy revives the koala with an Eskimo kiss and names it Blinky. She soon discovers that it is an alien from a parallel dimension called KoalaWalla Land, and that she is able to travel to his dimension at will.
