The first animated series depicting the popular Japanese superhero Moonlight Mask/Moonbeam Man. The character had debuted in his own live-action television series in 1958. He was also the main character in 6 live-action theatrical films released between 1958 and 1959. The moon-themed hero is implied to be the secret identity of the detective Juro Iwai, though that identification is never made explicit in his various appearances. The hero typically wears a white uniform attached to a red cape, and a cloth face mask. His main weapons include a whip, two six-shooters, a collection of shuriken, and moon-shaped boomerangs. He uses his motorcycle for transportation.
