To Minore Tis Avgis tells the story of Greek culture from 1930-1960. It tries to illustrate the years when the Rebetico music style was born. The title is a reference to a famous song by Markos Vamvakaris. The plot follows the lives of four different people (Antonis, Mitsos, Vangelis, Thanasis) who create a group and became known. Throughout the series popular songs of old composers (Vamvakaris, Tsitsanis, Papaioanou, Mouflouzelis, etc.) are heard. The series is set in the port of Piraeus and Athens of 1930. The story covers 50 years in 26 episodes so it often moves quickly to cover ground.
