Annie and Klaas Koning would like to live together in their own home if their parents were killed in a car accident. That does not seem so easy: their aunt Lydia interferes everywhere and the social worker, Mr. Gomperts, wants them to live in a home. They can only agree with the neighbor, but she can not help them either. Annie walks away and when Aunt Lydia comes to live in the house, Klaas also leaves. He tries to find Annie, while they are both wanted by the police and their families. Annie and Klaas find each other and hide in an old ruin. But they are also discovered there, and after wandering around the sea they end up in a watchtower on the Veluwe. Because they can not stay on the flight, they eventually decide to return home to solve all problems. The title track is based on the medieval ballad "There were two royal children", about two lovers who were unreachable for each other.
