1980 World Series (1980)

For the first time 60 years two teams that had never won a World Series were battling for a right to their first World Championship. The after winning the NL East for the 4 time in 5 years the Phillies fell down 2-1 to the Houston Astros in the NLCS but they rallied back and just barely won a winner take all game 5 to win their first NL Pennant in 30 years. The royals had also won their 4th AL west Championship in 5 years and unlike the Phillies got to sweep the Yankees in 3 games. Now the Phillies and Royals meet each other in the 1980 World Series
