The Beauty and the Nerd (2008)

The show starts off by introducing 10 young "geeky" men who seem extremely strange, socially inept and having esoteric interests, and 10 young beautiful women who are social butterflies but also seem shallow and uneducated. Then the show continues by pairing them together, into pairs which are destined to contest against other pairs. While the show is an elimination game and revolves around the contests, in its broader vision the show dubs itself a "social experiment": it tracks the personal development the contestants undergo, through getting to know each other and participating in contests designed to challenge both the geeks and the beauties. The show belongs to the genre which brings together a group of strangers to live in a segregated location and then tracks their daily activities. Through most of it, the show keeps a sympathetic yet humorous tone.
