Destino (2012)

The economic powerhouse of Sao Paulo continues to attract immigrants dreaming of a new life. These new "Paulistanos" always seem willing to overcome cultural barriers in order to achieve a common objective - to seize an opportunity. No matter their background or reasons for coming, they have on thing in common, they all bring hopes and fears with them, as well as unique stories and experiences. Some of the immigrant groups that can be found in Brazil's largest city include Koreans, Africans, Argentinians, and Chileans, among others. Destination: Sao Paulo puts the lives of these foreigners under the microscope to look into their houses, ghettos, and their personal lives. Without stereotypes or prejudice, the miniseries paints an intimate portrait of the life of these people and their relationship with a city which can be both welcoming and harsh. The series was created by Fábio Mendonça and produced for O2 Films.
