Stills (2014)

Stills follows the lives of six interwoven characters struggling to survive in New York City. Dylan, was your typical care-free, dudebro who must now pave a new, more meaningful road for himself after a life changing injury shattered his dreams of playing pro baseball. DC, hails from the south who left his disapproving family behind to pursue his dream of photography and so that he could live openly as a gay man. Maya, who has devoted her life to bettering her community now faces the battle of her life having just learned she is HIV positive. Upon learning of a family crisis, Jaime must find balance between her modern world of New York and her parent's more traditional world of South Korea. Once inseparable from and now disowned by her younger brother, Rose is a transgender woman whose one wish is to help steer her brother back onto the right path. Young Jessica grew up in a loving Latin home in the Bronx. Wide-eyed, she's just starting her adult life, venturing out into New York's dating scene and debating whether or not to come out to her family. Over several months we journey with our characters catching snap shots into their lives and sharing the hopes, fears, aspirations, triumphs and tribulations that make up everyday life in the city that never sleeps.
