Characters often call each other profane and derogatory names, such as mutt, horse, dingus, lazy slug, dumfus, jerk, idiot, dumbass, cretin, etc. Also some major nationalistic jeers between rivaling characters based on their political preferences at the time, as well as homophobic remarks towards an openly gay character.

In season two, Hilmija, the main character, can be seen smoking cigarettes at the beginning of an episode. There are also instances where characters other than Hilmija drink alcoholic beverages, such as Sturmbannführer Shilling, Chief of Police Mustafa Zulfebustampasic, Durmis the busboy, Radovan Lepinja and Agim Rugoba.
