Rapture: Nimbus Reborn (2024)

Five years after evil business tycoon-turned-mad preacher, Vincent Goar, calls on God to bring about Judgement Day, ex-superhero Ronald Fireheart is left disillusioned by not making Heaven's entry requirements. He has become withdrawn and bloodthirsty, broken by the world around him. When his ex-mentor (and one time would-be assassin), Sebastian Blade, convinces him to rejoin the fight against Goar (now running the country with a watchful eye and an iron fist as The Auditor), Ronald agrees to help break into the Auditor's castle and they fight their way to the villain's lair. The Auditor is prepared, however, and reveals his secret weapon: the Fallen Saviour, a zombified deity corrupted by the sins of humanity, insanely powerful and purely evil. In the ensuing fight, Sebastian Blade loses his life, forcing Ronald to embrace his former identity and become once more the mighty Nimbus. Nearly dying in the process, Nimbus is pulled out of time and space for a pep talk from God, who reminds him of an ancient technique he can use to defeat the Fallen Saviour, and upon his return to reality, he performs the Holy move. A pair of crusty testicles and an exploding head later, Nimbus is proven to be the true second coming of Christ, and tells the Auditor that he is nothing. When the Auditor attempts to kill Nimbus, the hero's halo swiftly decapitates the villain, ending his reign and allowing Nimbus to be fully reborn.
