Valerii, a self-taught artist, lives on the edge of a village near a pine forest in the east of Ukraine. Valerii is one of the youngest residents here. He is only 79. His admiration for Greek mythology reflects in the creation of sculptures and paintings with ancient gods and Greek landscapes. Valerii paints a picture with Greek landscapes and cannot finalize it because there is supposed to be a cypress tree in the foreground but he doesn't know what it looks like as he has never seen it in real life. In 2017 Ukraine has signed visa-free regime with European Union and the borders become open for the first time in 100 years. A short documentary is shot about Valerii where he speaks up his dream to see Greece. The documentary becomes viral and Ukrainians decide to collect money for the artist's first journey. Valerii gets a chance to go to Greece and see everything with his own eyes. In Greece, the artist will set out on a long journey around the whole country where he will see ancient temples, try to comprehend modern art in museums, meet Greek artists, and finally see cypress and take a picture of it. Upon arrival, Valerii is welcomed by a hungry cat, frozen plants, and an unfinished painting on an easel. It is summer in a few months. Valerii restored his plants, his cat gave birth, and there is a painting with the cypress up on his wall.
