I Am Here

I Am Here is an experimental film short that is a hybridization and integration of theatre, visual, performing, and digital media arts. I Am Here, incorporates a montage of video material from segments of a stage production, digital images, video projections, sound and special effects, music, and movement. An androgynous, masked character, He-She, tells the story in a narrative, non linear, poetic style and who presents the view that the body tells the story of our lives. He-She examines issues related to socio-political and cultural views of aging, old age, and the erasure of age on the body. It is hoped that I Am Here asks something of ourselves and, perhaps in so doing, shifts us beyond considering ourselves as victims of time, to fostering a view of a full life, well lived, no matter our age.
