Bitten (2023)

Young director Romain de Saint-Blanquat's debut feature is a fascinating blend of coming-of-age story with an eerie aesthetic. Set during Mardi Gras in 1967, it follows Françoise and Delphine, two opposing best friends, who defy the confines of a Catholic school and escape to a party in the woods for a night of liberation. With magnetic performances by Léonie Dehan-Lamort and Lilith Grasmug, the film vividly portrays teenage rebellion and the search for authenticity.
