Three generations interconnect the life experiences, work, advocacy, teachings, and leaning of Anastacia Giron Tupas through flashbacks in 1922-1945-1959 while transposing her story into the lives of her modern-day/contemporary equals. Anna Formantes, like AGT, is aware of the bad health of her neighborhood from an early age. Like AGT's formative years, Anna discovers she wants to serve and inspire others as a nurse, despite personal obstacles. She strives to uphold the personal and professional values of AGT. She sacrifices her happiness for education, better degrees and experiences, community advocacy, and advancing nursing standards in the Philippines.
