Storyline:  In 1976, Tom arrives in Buenos Aires to start a teaching job at a prestigious English boarding school. The city is engulfed in political turmoil, but the headmaster insists on maintaining business as usual. Tom is content to go along with this approach. When a coup d'état forces the school to close, Tom heads to Uruguay to enjoy some downtime. During a romantic escapade and a beach walk, he encounters a penguin covered in oil from a spill. Despite his reservations, Tom decides to rescue the penguin, which becomes fiercely loyal to him. Tom must then sneak the flightless bird back into Argentina, sparking an unusual and touching friendship.
