Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am - Deleted Scenes (2019)

Deleted scenes from the documentary Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am (2019). Included among the Special Features of the film's DVD release, it provides additional material from interviews with Morrison herself, such as her recounting how Marlon Brando sometimes called her to read excerpts that he particularly appreciated from her novels, but also to give his critiques. Other additional interview material is from her long-time editor, colleague, and friend, Robert Gottlieb (about their longing-running playful battle over her rejection of commas), as well as from Angela Davis, Sonia Sanchez, and several others who appear in the documentary. It also includes additional archival film footage and photos, some of Morrison's mother and father.
