Superwoman and Physician (2022)

Yi is the daughter of a kung fu master who guards the secrets of the deadly Eight Diagram Palm style. Her father refuses to teach her because she is a girl, but Yi spies on his classes and through unstinting hard work and a bit of help from her mother, completely masters the style including its most dangerous and difficult techniques. When her father sees that her skills exceed even his own he realises his mistake and names her as his successor. Meanwhile the head of a rival school plots to steal the secrets. He poisons the whole family but keeps the parents alive, meaning to torture them into handing over the secrets. Yi escapes but is close to death. Villagers take her to the local doctor who declares the case is hopeless, but his apparently incompetent assistant attempts a risky experimental technique with spectacular results. Once Yi is strong again, she heads off to rescue her parents and deal with the bad guys, but does she also feel a fondness for her likeable physician saviour?
