Jacek Kalacinski is the only one of many siblings who stays in the countryside to help his old parents in farm work. This comes at the expense of a promising sports career. Jola, Jasiek's girlfriend, is outraged by the resignation from further education. However, the family situation requires it - the seriously ill father is in the hospital. One day, Jasiek meets Jola in the company of another man in a disco. In an impulse of jealousy, he invites the girl along with her friends to an expensive place. Irritated by the casual behavior of his guests, he makes a fuss with them, which leads to a break with Jola. Harvest is coming. Jasiek works hard - none of the siblings was eager to help. They all come for their parents' golden wedding. Under the influence of alcohol, Jasiek reproaches them bitterly and leaves the family home. Shooting for a film about the promotion of rural youth is underway in the market square in Kazimierz. The director hires Jasiek as the performer of the main role. Bored with the atmosphere prevailing in the film world, the boy returns home, where preparations are underway to hand over the farm to the state. Jasiek sharply opposes his parents' decision.
