On the Table is a love letter to restaurants. In her first film Diana Arnold gives a voice to the often-overlooked, seldom heard waitress. Filmed during the pandemic in New York City with much of the cast a part of the service industry themselves, we follow a seasoned server through her busy shift and get a first person perspective on the intricacies and challenges of being in service. Adapted from Diana's Dixon Place play of the same name, this theatrical short breaks the fourth wall to remind us what we love most about eating out, and the connection that comes when we put it all on the table.
