Soil and water. Materials of life. Materials of creation in the hands of a Neolithic Man. What led him to create a model of his own house out of these materials? Why does man create man? Thoughts, feelings and questions constitute the narration core of the story referring to a Neolithic model of a small clay house and the nine human figurines found inside it, a unique "representation" of a Neolithic household for the overall Neolithic Europe. This splendid find, dated at around 5.500 BC, was discovered at Platia Magoula Zarkou, a Neolithic tell in Thessaly in Central Greece. The short film "Man creates man" has been inspired from this model also aiming at shedding light on aspects of the social organization and ideology of the Neolithic farmers of Thessaly. The film was created in order to be screened at the temporary exhibition entitled "Figurine. A world in micrography. Thessaly and Macedonia" which takes place at the Diachronic Museum of Larissa and co-organized by this Museum and the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. Apart from the temporary exhibition, the film will be implemented in educational projects of the Diachronic Museum of Larissa.
