When Lena, a middle-aged real estate agent secretly struggling with recurring pregnancy loss, receives news that her mother has died, she reluctantly returns to her family home for a weekend to determine what to do about their father, who suffers from dementia. Lena's husband, Rafael, a retired soccer player, and her 12-year-old stepdaughter, Dahlia, join Lena and her estranged siblings on the journey. At their childhood home, Lena, her elder brother Andrew, and their much younger sister Esther must come to grips with the state of their father's health while wrestling over the future of the house and unearthing family secrets. Andrew conceals his failing marriage; Esther hides her financial struggles; Dahlia bonds with Esther to the dismay of Lena; and the memory of the decades-old death of their eldest brother, Ronnie, continues to haunt the family today.
