Robin McKelle, or the progressive mutation of an American-Irish butterfly. We are in 2006. Introducing bursts onto the music market and causes a sensation. With Modern Antique two years later, a transitional album, Robin intrigues with the subtlety of her bluesy covers and offers her first personal composition. When Mess Around is released in 2010, the jazz singer confirms the announced turn and dives into a vintage rhythm'n'blues, a timeless soul. She signed this time four tracks. But it is the release of Soul Flower (2012) that best demonstrates the progression of Robin McKelle whose writing then takes its full dimension. Bathed in a Motown soul, the opus to be played on a Teppaz works like a time machine. The aptly named Heart of Memphis (2014), his fifth album, then offers eleven original compositions in the pure southern vein of the legendary Stax label. By signing today The Looking Glass, produced by Steve Greenwell (awarded a Grammy for his work with Joss Stone), miss McKelle definitely takes the reins of a mixed project, between soul, jazz and pop.
