Overdue (2022)

Two emotionally distant brothers come to terms with their past after a disastrous night. Russell, a messy college dropout working a dead end job, is just trying to have fun in life. He lives with his single mom and his younger brother, Daniel. Daniel tells Russell he's going to his first house party and Mum (Vanessa) thinks he's going to stay over at Ryan's so he should keep quiet. Later in the day as Vanessa (Mum) drops off Russell for work, she pleads Russell to take care of his brother and keep a close eye on him. Russell is confused by this but he agrees reluctantly. Meanwhile, Ryan is peer pressuring Daniel into getting drunk and intoxicated. Russell rejects calling Daniel or checking up on him while at work. Russell decides to deliver one of the orders he receives instead of his friend Reggie. He later finds out he's delivering food to the same house the party is located in. He delivers the food and decides to leave but before he does, he changes his mind and goes in to find Daniel. He looks everywhere and seems lost, until he finds him in the bathtub. He explodes in anger at the sight of Daniel, but he helps him get up anyway. They head out of the party and back home. In their house's driveway they confront each other about why they're both acting like this only to find the root of all this being their father's sudden departure from their lives. They both bond over their father and memories of him.
