In this free adaptation of Stefan Zweig's The Royal Game, Márta (Sára Varga-Járó) and István (Gergely Váradi) are trying to leave Hungary with the last refugee train in November of '56. Aside from the young couple, the church's invaluable relics are on their way to the western border, towards the free world, whose route the government's agents are attempting to torture out of B (Károly Hajduk), a catholic priest. The characters stories aboard the train intercept one other in a crucial chess game where the stakes are not only the relics' fate, but also the lives of the two lovers. Barnabás Tóth's much anticipated film is a psychological thriller filled with unexpected twists; the likes of which viewers have never seen before from a Hungarian director.
