In his shaky faith, Bahri, a young ustadz, tries to bury his past by working in the city. One time Bahri's friend, Hasan, comes from the village to ask for help. The village of Mekarwangi, where Bahri grew up and came from, suffers from a supernatural disorder, which is believed to be caused by Ratna, an old friend of Bahri. Ratna is seriously ill and suffering but never meets her death. Ratna's screams of pain haunt the village every night, accompanied by the appearance of a supernatural figure who disturbs the residents. Bahri returns to Mekarwangi Village and finds that the danger he has to face is greater than he thought. Even after Ratna died, the occult disorder got worse, to the point that it took the lives of the villagers. Bahri is accused of being responsible for it all. Bahri's past as a prisoner is exposed, making the residents of Mekarwangi expel him. To save himself and his village, Bahri has no choice but to regain his guidance and strengthen his faith.
