Shiny

Mark and Jenny, parents of their precocious child, Abby, are living the typical suburban life. Having celebrated Abby's birthday and gifting her a unicorn pin, Mark takes Abby to the playground for a play date, leaving her in the capable hands of another family. Abby becomes distracted by a pink scarf floating in the wind and disappears. Mark passes out fliers to aid in the search for Abby. He sees Omar, a handicapable teen, with Abby's unicorn pin and chases him into an alley, knocking him out, and dragging him into a warehouse. Mark, blinded by desperation, interrogates Omar with vigilante techniques, including shooting Omar in the leg and multiple beatings. Mark realizes too late that Omar is not the person he believed and that his actions have hindered the investigation into his daughter's disappearance.
